Rust issues different ban types based on the type of infraction determined during play. Rust uses Easy Anti-cheat. Easy Anti-Cheat issues a . You can read more about hardware bans here: #hardware-bans
Private servers or groups can ban players who break the rules, like cheating or being mean to others. These bans are not from the official Rust game servers.
You can get unbanned from a community or private Rust game by submitting an appear to the owner of that server.
Game developer bans, or game bans, are issued by Rust when there is evidence of cheating or other malicious activity on an account.
Easy Anti-Cheat issues 3-day bans for suspicious stats. These temporary bans are managed through an AI anti-cheat known as Cerberus. Cerberus is server-sided anti-cheat. Play cautiously initially to avoid these.
Servers share ban information and IP addresses, leading to bans on multiple servers.
Avoid playing with the same players from different regions simultaneously, returning to the same servers, going directly to an old base, using the same skins, and replicating the same base designs
Arkan - Detects features like no spread, silent aim, and low recoil. Admin notifications are opinion-based.
Galium Anti-Cheat - Combined with BattleMetrics, tracks in-game hours and combat logs and detects violations.
Stash Traps - Plugin to catch cheaters using ESP.
Admin Vanish - Makes admins invisible to ESP users.
Projectiles Tracker - Tracks gun trajectories, revealing silent aim and fast-hit cheats.
RustDB - Admin panel with shared ban databases and monitoring tools.
Recoil Hud - Shows your recoil pattern to admins.
BattleMetrics - Tracks player IPs and links accounts. Shared data among admins means IPs can reveal linked accounts across servers. Rust admins can see every name and every IP/region the account has logged in with through BattleMetrics.
IP Ranges and Traceroutes - Avoid using multiple fresh accounts from the same IP range in a short time. Traceroutes can increase the likelihood of detecting ban evasion. Changing DNS servers can alter your route.
VPNs - Use residential IPs to avoid detection. Some servers ban VPN users due to shared IPs.
Frequently Circulated IPs - Tether your cell phone or use heavily trafficked VPNs. If you must use a VPN and can't find good residential VPNs that aren't burned, stick to official servers. If you are on an IP a cell phone is using or a VPN that 100s of people are using, you can try to get lost in numbers
Rust bans are complex and challenging to bypass.
The first step to bypassing bans is good profile management.
Aged Accounts - Use accounts with legitimate playtime and activities. Avoid fresh accounts (no playtime or very little playtime) and purchased accounts with ghosted hours.
Steam Details - Avoid detection using different avatars, friends, and groups. Make profiles look legit by joining Steam groups, using multiple names, and hiding your inventory.
Region Consistency - Purchase accounts from the same region to avoid suspicion. Accounts showing sudden region changes raise red flags.
Avoid Sequential IDs - Websites selling cheap game accounts create them in bulk, resulting in similar SteamIDs. Admins can track these patterns to identify groups of accounts created for ban evasion or cheating.
Pro-tip: accounts with over 1,000+ hours in Rust are not necessary. In most cases, a 100+ hour account is sufficient.
A quality VPN is the first step in bypassing any Rust-related ban. Residential VPNs are suggested over traditional VPNs, as using a commercial VPN IP address is considered a flag.
We highly recommend using our spoofer, which was developed primarily for Rust.
To bypass most bans, do the following:
Clean traces and change the PC's HWID by using a spoofer
our spoofer can do these steps in a single click
Change IP address using a non-commercial VPN
use a residential VPN service and purchase a static IP
Purchase an aged account with 100+ hours
avoid spending extra for accounts with 1,000+ hours; they are not necessary
If you do not opt to purchase a VPN, you may also have success with changing your IP address by tethering to a phone (4G/5G network) or resetting your home network's external IP address.
Unplug your modem for approximately 15 minutes to reset the IP address
